Sometimes we need to find an appointment quickly, perhaps to edit it or just remind us when it is. Occasionally, we need a list of all the appointments we've scheduled with a certain client or a group. Let me show you how quick and easy this is. While viewing our calendar we can click here or use the shortcut key Ctrl+E. We'll type a keyword and press Enter. Outlook will search through all of my appointments, looking at their Subject, Location, Notes, Category, and invited attendees for the keyword I entered.
In the results listing I can double-click on any appointment to view or modify it. You might be interested to know that this table of results can also be copy-and-pasted into Excel should you ever need to create a spreadsheet. When I'm done searching, I can click the X icon to return to the normal view. In the wrap up to Chapter 5 I'll show you some time saving shortcut keys that we can use while working with the Outlook calendar.
