Some meetings just never end, and the worst ones keep coming back, week after week. You can create a recurring appointment, like a weekly sales meeting or monthly lunch with your best friend, and you would do it the same way you create any other appointment in Outlook, with one twist at the end. Here on the 23rd, I've got a product review happening in the afternoon. I have already created the appointment the usual way. But after everything is finished, with the location, notes, categories and anything else I want to add, I will click the Recurrence button.
This brings up the Appointment Recurrence dialog box, and here I can set the pattern of the appointment, such as every third Monday or the first Friday of every other month. I can also specify when the recurrence should automatically end, if it does. This particular meeting is monthly, so I will specify Monthly on the left, and the fourth Thursday of every month on the right. We are going to be doing this for about four months, so here I'll choose End after four occurrences. Clicking OK and then Save, I can glance down to the next couple of months and check to see that the appointment is indeed recurring. There they are! Now, if one of these particular appointments is canceled or postponed, you can modify it.
I can right-click on any recurring appointment and choose Delete and then Delete Occurrence. Deleting series does exactly that, it deletes the entire series of appointments. To reschedule, just take one and drag it to another date or time. This works with meeting invitations, too. So if you are the organizer of the recurring meeting, go ahead and set one up. Your recipients will automatically see every recurrence of the appointment if they accept your invitation.
