Assigning overtime

One thing you don't want to do is assign overtime as part of your original project plan. If you count on long work days from the beginning, you won't have any options left if the schedule goes awry later, but once the project is underway you have a couple of ways to work with Overtime. If your team members are salaried, or get paid the same amount for every hour they work, you can assign someone to work longer hours by bumping up their units for an assignment. This task usage view is already setup to show the fields that you need to do this. It's already filtered for incomplete tasks. So we can see the tasks that haven't been done yet and we could apply overtime to. This table already has assignment units, and peak in place, so you can just change the assignment units that are set for a resource. In addition over in the grid, you can see the work, and the actual work that's been done. To see how to assign longer hours, we're going to look at the Inventory Office Task. The Office…
