Meet Muse, the design-friendly tool that allows anyone familiar with programs like Photoshop or InDesign to create rich, HTML-based websites—even if you don't have a strong grasp on coding. James Fritz is your guide on this brief tour. He'll show you how to set up webpages, and add multimedia and interactive features like menus, slideshows, and maps. He'll also demonstrate how easy it is to export your site and publish it to the web. With all these skills in hand, you can go ahead and concentrate on the design; Muse will take care of the rest.

Topics include:
  • Creating a new site
  • Setting up master pages
  • Working with text and graphics
  • Adding hyperlinks and web forms
  • Embedding HTML and maps
  • Exporting and publishing a Muse website

Welcome

Hello. I'm James Fritz, and welcome to Up and Running with Muse. As a designer, I don't like to pigeonhole myself into designing for print or the web. In reality, I need to design for both. Unfortunately, coding websites has always been something that I've found difficult to master. That's why I'm excited about Muse, since it allows you as a designer to well, just design, and not worry about creating code.

In this title, I'll take you through the basics of Muse, so you can easily create a website today. We'll start out learning how to create a site map with master pages. Next, I'll walk you through the steps of building dynamic menus and slide shows. Finally, we'll see just how easy it is to export your site and publish it on the web. Now, let's get up and running with Adobe Muse.
