Video: Using the exercise files

If you're a Premium member of the lynda.com Online Training Library or if you're watching this tutorial on the DVD-ROM you have access to the Exercise Files used throughout this title. So once you install the files locally on your machine, you'll notice they're divided up into folders. Now we have 10 chapters in this title and we have a Media folder. Now usually when you click on the chapter title, most of the time you'll find Motion projects, but occasionally, if we are referencing more than one item within a specific video, we may put that within another folder.

Using the exercise files

If you're a Premium member of the lynda.com Online Training Library or if you're watching this tutorial on the DVD-ROM you have access to the Exercise Files used throughout this title. So once you install the files locally on your machine, you'll notice they're divided up into folders. Now we have 10 chapters in this title and we have a Media folder. Now usually when you click on the chapter title, most of the time you'll find Motion projects, but occasionally, if we are referencing more than one item within a specific video, we may put that within another folder.

So within each chapter, just look for the specific videos' numbers. Now if you don't find a number in there, don't sweat it. We're just showing you examples and no Exercise Files are required. Now in the Media folder, this is where we saved all the extra media that we've used within our projects. So if you ever open a project and it's giving you an error because it can't find something, it's most likely in the media folder. Now I went through and did a bunch of training using these full sized still textures and if you noticed, some of them are actually rather large.

Now I did resize smaller versions of these files. So should you need any smaller versions on systems that have less RAM than what we used, you can definitely just use these textures instead. So, if you're a monthly subscriber or annual subscriber to lynda.com, you don't have access to the Exercise Files, but you can follow along from scratch with your own assets. So let's get started.
