It's great to get creative and build your own titles. But if you prefer, Marquee has several styles available as templates. You can use these templates and then modify them as needed to create attractive graphics in layer third titles. If I want to access the Avid templates, I come down here to the lower window and access the Templates, which is the fourth tab. I'll go ahead and increase it so that we can see all of the options available. We have templates available for all sorts of things. Backdrops, Crawling Titles, Demos, but we are interested in Lower Thirds because that's what we are building right now.
And there are several options in here that we can use and then modify as needed. I want to just take a look through them. I double-click and they load into the monitor, and one thing to note is that if I want to look at another title after I have already loaded one, I have to undo, Ctrl+Z or Command+Z, and then load the next one. Otherwise, if I double-click again, they load on top of one another. I will double-click here.
Well that one is nice. I think I might choose that to modify. So all I have to do is come back over to my monitor. I am going to decrease the size of my Template Library and come back to my Quick Title Properties and as you see here, I have a shape. It proceeds from a magenta to a blue and the opacity decreases as we go from left to right. Instead of magenta, I think it might be nicer to have a light blue color here.
So I will go ahead and select my Shape, come up to my Gradient and we will choose this light blue color and that's nice. I will then go ahead and select my text box, make it a little bit larger, increase the number of via the value shuttle, and again just a little bit larger like so. And I am going to go ahead and select my text, Tony Williams, Artistic Director. I am going to go ahead and select my Safe Title boundary box to make sure everything is within acceptable limits, which it is.
And as you see, I have created a new title using one of the templates in the Template Library of Avid Marquee. Templates are of really great solution for Quick Title creation and offer the flexibility to customize then however you want. So now that we have a couple of titles that we like, let's take a look at how to get them in a Media Composer and edit them into our sequence.
