Configuring a shopping cart for your business usually means working with a series of shifting parts. Magento Go helps merchants quickly and easily build a store to sell products and services online, with no software to install and configure and no servers to manage. In this course, author Justin Seeley shows how to use the robust set of tools in Magento Go to create, manage, and grow your online business. The course covers setting up products, product categories, tax settings, and shipping methods; creating payment methods with PayPal, Authorize.Net, and Google Checkout; customizing your store's pages and themes; and managing customer data and product ratings.
Another popular payment method online these days is something called Google Checkout which has now actually become Google Wallet for buyers. If you go to the Google website checkout.google.com, it will take you to a page that looks similar to this, and once you get to this page, you can see that it tells you, you can increase online sales by using Google Wallet. It tells you here that Google Checkout is now Google Wallet for buyers, and it's a fast secure checkout process that is basically tied to your Google account. So you can sign into your Google account using either your Gmail address or your Google Apps address.
And once you sign in, you will be able to start using Google Checkout or Google Wallet for buyers. You can see how it works by coming down here to the About Google Checkout section, and you can read the Learn More. You can also see cost and fees, how to get started, and all that good stuff. Once you have that set up, you come back into the Magento Go dashboard and go into System and go down to Configuration. And in order to set up Google Checkout, you actually scroll down to the Sales section, and inside of the Sales section, there is a section called Google API.
Inside of the Google API, you can add a lot of different Google services including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Checkout, Google Shopping, Website Optimizer, Checkout Shipping, all these different things are available to you. And if you want to just set up Google Checkout, just click it, and then choose Enable, set to Yes. And then come through and fill out all of the information like your Merchant ID and your Merchant Key which are available to you inside of the Google Checkout admin dashboard. You can also select the image that you use. This will be set up within Google Checkout as well, your location, new order statuses, continue shopping, whereas if someone were to add something to their cart, where does it take them when they click Continue Shopping? Do you want to hide the card? Do you disable default tax tables, enable using shipping rates from your Google accounts? So if you've set this up, go ahead.
So once you have all this information set up, you can click Save Config, and Google Checkout will be added as a possible checkout option when someone purchases an item from your Magento Go store.
