In addition to being able to take orders online you can also take orders offline as well and then process them using the Magento Go system. So if you had like a call-in center where people can call in to place orders, or if you have a brick and mortar store that someone calls into you and says hey I want this that I saw online or something like that, and they want to just have you do the ordering for them. In any case you'll need to service your customers in any way possible. You can actually process those orders directly from Magento Go and that's what I am going to show you how to do in this movie.
So the first thing you need to do is locate the Sales option in your navigation of your Magento Store dashboard and then go down to Orders. Once you reach the ordering screen you'll be able to see any pending orders that you have. Currently I don't have any, but I can create a new order by clicking right here. Once I'm taken to the Create New Order screen, I am then able to select a customer. If this customer has shopped with me before, theoretically they are in my customer database. If they are not in my customer database I can create a new customer by clicking right there.
Once I have clicked that, it takes me to the create new order for our new customer screen, and I can then select what group they are a part of, I am just going to say they are General group. I am going to add an email address here and then I'll fill out their information. I can choose to save this in my address book. If the shipping address and billing address are different you can fill that out here or you can simply say same as billing, and that will go ahead and populate all of that information for you. No payment information is required when you're creating this order, simply because maybe they've already paid you over the phone or whatnot.
You could also get Shipping Method quotes, if you have this hooked into a shipping provider, if not you don't have to do that. And then towards the top you can also add a product to this as well. So let's go ahead and add a product, and let's say that they bought the vintage yellow robot toy, so we've added that. And I'll click Add Selected Product(s) to Order, it takes a minute to process, so now you can see there is order total right there. We can apply coupon or gift card codes if they had one, and down towards the bottom we get their subtotal, their tax and all of that.
Once we're finished with all of this we can hit Submit Order and that will complete the ordering process. There will also be an order confirmation sent to them and that way you can keep track of this order, no matter where it came from inside of your Magento Go system. So now if I hit Submit Order it may warn me that shipping methods need to be applied. No shipping is available because I haven't hooked this into any shipping yet. But if this were there I could pick the shipping method, then submit the order, everything would go through and you would see that pop up in your Pending Orders list, where you could then ship it out using all of the different methods that are available to you inside of the Magento Go dashboard.
