Understanding Logic regions and quantizing effectively
I've started this beat, and we'll make it tighter now by quantizing, cleaning up where the drum hits fall. First we'll look at regions, the most basic element of making, editing, and quantizing a beat in Logic. The region is the fundamental building block of your writing. It can contain audio, or MIDI data. Different editing options are available in this region Parameter Box here in the upper left, depending whether you have an audio, or MIDI region selected. If it's MIDI, I'll select this Kick and Snare on top. Quantization to adjust the timing and swing is visible, now I'll select the audio region. At the bottom and look watch the Region Parameter Box when I switch. And now we see entirely different parameters. Like creating and adjusting the fade in and fade out.
