Separating your kick and snare by note, pitch, and output
Here's a practical technique while programming a beat separating out the parts of the drum performance to individual tracks and outputs. The drums sound a little bit different than in earlier videos with this groove I got inspired and switched out Ultra beat to play back through any access 24808 kit. Another great drum instrument with drum samples, and added a few more parts. So I like all the parts I've played but I want to work more on the arrangement especially of the drum track. I played the kick, and snare together because that's how I was feeling the groove. But now I want to separate them out and have the snare make a different entrance than the kick. Let me solo this for you. Kick and snare. And again, they're now coming out of the EXS 24. So, all I have to do is go to this Edit menu, and scroll down to Separate MIDI events by note pitch.
