The course begins with an in-depth exploration of Lightroom catalogs to keep track of photos, collections, keywords, stacks, and more. Along the way, Chris shows how to integrate Bridge and Photoshop in the Lightroom workflow and shares advanced techniques, including image editing with the adjustment brush, automating actions, using plug-ins and extensions, exporting to email or an FTP server, and more. Exercise files are included with the course.
Here I want few minutes just to highlight a couple of different sites that you can visit in order to actually download some really interesting Lightroom web galleries. Now, the first thing that you want to do is navigate to Google and do a search for "adobe lightroom exchange," and the top link that you will find will take you to Adobe's site. And there, once you're at Lightroom Exchange, you can find a lot of really fascinating things in regards to Lightroom, different types of plug-ins and whatnot. But what we're looking for-- at least here--are web gallery plug-ins.
So if you click on Web Gallery on the right-hand side, there you'll find some different web galleries. You can go buy Most Popular and see a huge range of different types of web galleries. The next site that I want to highlight is called The Turning Gate. And if you go to Flash Galleries, you'll see there's a huge range of galleries you can use. The one that I'm going to download and demo is the Turning Gate Polaroid gallery. And the nice thing about many of these galleries is that they're free. Here, you can see you can download this. All right, another site I want to highlight is called slideshowpro.net.
Now, the Slideshow Pro Web Gallery is incredibly popular, and rightly so. It's a really strong web gallery engine. What you can do is go to the section on SlideShowPro for Lightroom. You can learn more information about this, and you can also download a free trial, so you can test this out. And again I will demo this particular one as well. So visit slideshowpro.net to look for this type of web gallery. And again what you'll want to do is poke around a little bit, look at the examples, see how people are using these galleries, to see if it fits your needs.
Another site that I want to highlight is lightroomgalleries.com. Again, what you will do is search around for different types of Lightroom galleries, and there are few good ones on the site. The next site is lightroom-blog.com. Now, it may be a little tricky to find the plug-ins, but I found the easiest way to do so is to scroll down, all the way down near the bottom of the site, and here you all will see the ability to filter based on different types of content. Go to the web gallery there, and that will then filter the content, so you can find information about different types of web galleries on this site.
The last one I want to highlight is photographers-toolbox.com. Again, another really interesting Lightroom gallery. And there's all of these and a ton more. I'm just scratching the surface, trying to get you going as you're starting to think about what type of web galleries you might want to download and install and then integrate in to how you show off your images and how you work with Lightroom. This one is, again, one that you can get for free. And if you scroll down, you'll see that you can also click on some samples to determine if you like the layout, you like the way it works, et cetera, et cetera.
All right, one of the things that you want to do is at least download one of these, or find something that you like. And to download a gallery, typically you'll find a button which simply says Download like this here. And what I want to do next then is talk about how once we've downloaded a gallery, how then can we install it into Lightroom and take advantage of it and start to use it and integrate it into our workflow?
