Hey, welcome to another creative photo tip. You know, this last year I had the privilege of writing this book, 'Visual Poetry,' and it's all about creating compelling photographs. And one of the premises of the book was this: It as that what a novelist says in 20,000 words, a poet says in 20, and after we read a poem sometimes we not only have more information, but we have more experience. And there's something about poetry which fascinates me. It's about reducing and simplifying, but it's more than that. It's about reducing, simplifying and deepening.
So here is my thought for you in regards to your photography. Perhaps you're using too many words, perhaps you're telling too much of the story. If you want to create powerful and intriguing photographs, maybe you need to tell less. And sometimes by telling less, you can actually say more.
