Video: Creative plug-in resources

Here I want to spend a couple of minutes sharing with you three different sites where you can find information about some of the most popular Photoshop and Lightroom plug-ins, so that you can learn more about these plug-ins and eventually test them out and then determine if these may be something you'll want to integrate in your own workflow. Well, the first site that I want to highlight is niksoftware.com. Here they have a whole range of products. You can see this one that I already showcased, Viveza. They also have others: one which works well when you're working with noise reduction, Nik Color Efex Pro, that's something I use on a regular basis, I also really enjoy Silver Efex Pro.

Now there are these programs and others. Again, dig around a little bit, and you'll soon discover some pretty powerful Photoshop and Lightroom plug-ins. One that's a little bit more tricky to find on this site because it hasn't been released-- at least when I'm recording this--is HDR Efex Pro. But this has already been receiving rave reviews by those who have pre-released versions of this. If you are into HDR photography, you may want to check out HDR Efex Pro. The next site that I want to highlight is alienskin.com.

Now while that name may be a little bit strange, they actually create some really solid and effective plug-ins. You'll notice there is one for exposure, which helps you create interesting color and tone effects. Another Alien Skin plug-in that's really popular is Bokeh 2. It allows you to dial in focus into our particular area. Now the last site that I want to highlight has a whole suite of tools. It's ononesoftware.com. If you visit this site, you'll discover that they have this suite of tools, and these tools do a number of different things.

Genuine Fractals, as it says, helps with resizing. Mask Pro deals with situations when you want to remove unwanted elements and backgrounds. PhotoTune allows you to color correct your images. FocalPoint is hands down amazing. It allows you to determine a particular area of focus in your images in a really unique, strong, and good looking way-- definitely worthwhile to test that one out. Phototools helps you work with color and tone and effects in creative ways. Then finally, PhotoFrame 4.5, it allows you to add borders or edges around your images or textures on top of them.

It just allows you to integrate some interesting things into your photographs. All right. Well, in closing, I hope that these three resource sites will be helpful for you as you seek to learn more about working with plug-ins inside of Lightroom.
