Another way that you can customize the Lightroom interface is by modifying what's called the panel end mark. You can see the end mark here. It's going to be the same in the left and right-hand side panels. Now the nice thing about this is this will always be located underneath the panels, whether or not the panels are open or closed. You're going to see this is going to travel so that it's always at the base. There's another area where we're going to actually see these end marks and that's in the Import dialog.
While we haven't covered that topic yet, I thought it'd be helpful to at least show you the dialog so you can see where those end marks are located. You can open up the Import dialog by navigating in to the File pulldown menu and then by selecting Import Photos. That will launch or open up this Import dialog. Now down below you can see that we again have that same end mark on the left and right-hand sides. All right. Well let's cancel out of this, and let's get to customizing this feature here.
There are a couple of different ways that you can customize this. Perhaps the easiest is by right-clicking on this area of the panels. If you do that, what you can do is open up this dialog and then select Panel End Mark. And here you have a handful of different options. I'll choose another one, let's say Leaf, and we'll see that updated on the right and left-hand sides. Another way that you can change this is by navigating to the Lightroom pulldown menu and choosing Preferences.
On a PC you'll find your Preferences options located in the Edit pulldown menu. In the Preferences dialogs, you'll notice that you have an Interface button. If you click on the Interface button, you can go to your panels option and here you can choose the End Marks, and I'll go ahead and take this back to the default setting of Flourish, and it's going to reset that to what we've seen previously. All right. Well now that we've seen how we can change the panel end mark, what about creating our own custom panel end marks? Let's cover that topic in the next movie.
