Before starting the Joomla! Advanced CSS videos, you will need to have a solid background in hand-coded XHTML, CSS and the basics of Joomla!. You can get this background through courses, books or other websites, but there is also some great lynda.com videos available to you that you can use to bring yourself up to speed. You can also use these videos to refer to as you are working through the Advanced CSS videos. If you need any help with XHTML or CSS. For XHTML, we recommend XHTML Essential Training with William Weinman.
For CSS, we recommend either CSS For Designers with Andy Clarke and Molly Holzschlag or CSS Web Site Design with Eric Meyer. Finally, to make sure you have the right Joomla! background, you'll want to make sure you complete the Joomla! 1.5 Essential Training with Joseph LeBlanc. You may wish to also complete the Joomla! Creating and Editing Custom Templates course as well before you start Advanced CSS. That will help you with some of the Advanced CSS work that we will be doing. But it's not required that you complete that video before you go to Advanced CSS.
