Hi! I am Jen Kramer. Welcome to Joomla 1.6 Essential Training. In this course, we'll install Joomla and set global configuration parameters, including adding keywords and metadata for search engine optimization. After that we'll get to the heart of Joomla by reviewing the CAM: Categories, Articles, and Menus. We'll add components and modules for extra web site functionality. We'll explore some of Joomla's latest features including nested categories, the Flash Uploader, and the Media Manager.
In addition, we'll change the look of the web site using Joomla templates, and we'll get a peek at the basics of Joomla's new Access Control Level or ACL features. Finally, we'll move the site we create on a local computer to a web host using Akeeba Backup. So if you are ready, let's get started with Joomla 1.6 Essential Training.
