With the Instagram mobile app and photo-sharing service, you can use your Android or iOS device to snap a photo, apply creative filter effects, and then share it with millions of Instagram users—and on Facebook and Twitter, too. In this course, Justin Seeley details the ins and outs of the Instagram app and sharing service. The course contains tips on shooting photos using the Instagram app and also describes how to edit and enhance photos taken with Instagram or imported from another app.
Justin then details the process of posting photos to Instagram and adding descriptive tags, captions, and location information. The final chapter offers insights on building a community of followers and on enhancing your Instagram experience with additional apps and services.
(music playing) Hi there! My name is Justin Seeley and I'm a Staff Author here at lynda.com. I'd like to welcome you to this course on sharing photos with Instagram. Throughout the course, I'll be taking you through the basics of the Instagram application and showing you how to do things like composing and taking photos, editing your photos using Instagram's filter system, adding and removing borders, and adjusting focus and adding HDR-like enhancements. In addition to working with the mechanics of the Instagram application, we're also going to dive into the social aspect of the app as well.
This is where I'll show you how to share your photos across multiple networks like Facebook and Twitter, and even integrate your Instagram photos with other services like Foursquare and Flickr as well. Finally, we're going to explore the community that exists inside Instagram. Over the last few years there's been an explosion of photographers on Instagram and along with that boom in users comes a ton of cool features and add-ons being developed by third parties. Some of these community features include tracking your Instagram stats to show you how many people are viewing your photos, joining fellow Instagrammers for a photo walk-- also known as an InstaMeet-- and even getting high quality prints of your Instagram shots delivered right to your front door.
Instagram is really taking the mobile photography world by storm and there are a ton of cool things that you can do with it. I'm excited to share all of these things with you in this course. So if you're ready, grab your mobile device and let's get started sharing photos with Instagram.
