Once you have applied all of the effects and adjustments that you want to apply to your photo inside of Instagram, it's time to then publish it to the Instagram ecosystem. And in order to do that, what you are going to do is tap on the green check mark underneath the photo like so. Once you do that you will be brought to this screen here where you have the Share Photo options. This is where you can do things like add captions, edit geolocation information and also share with multiple services on the Web. In order to add a caption to this photograph you simply tap with your finger where it says Write a Caption and then you just type out whatever it is you want to say about this photo.
Once you have tapped that in then you can add this photo to your Photo Map and basically what this means is that it is going to find your current location. It will come up and ask you if you want to use your current location. If you hit OK, it then takes you to the screen where it says "Your Photo Map, a Fun, New Way of Browsing Photos." And so it gives you two little caveats here, it says "Be mindful of which photos you add to your map. Their location will be visible to everyone who visits your map." So if you don't want somebody to know where you are when you took a photo, then you might not want to share this.
It tells you you can remove photos from your map at any time. And so anytime you have a photo that you don't want on your Photo Map that's cool, you can just remove it anytime you want. Just hit OK, I Understand. And so now based on the location that this photo was taken you can then share that; it'll be on your map and you can also name the location as well. So as you look through the list of locations here you can find it, tap on that location and then that will be added to your Photo Map as well indicating exactly where you took this photo.
So if you're at a concert, or you are at a special venue, or you might be at a restaurant or something like that, you could find the restaurant name that way you can always keep track of the information related to the photos and it makes it that much more special when you go back and look at these things later. You can say, "Oh I remember when I took that, I was at that concert or I was at that restaurant for our anniversary," or something like that. And then you could also look at your photo map and you can see all of the different places you've traveled, you can see all of locations you visited while you were in that place or on your vacation. It's a great way to keep track of everything you're doing and also to share things with people as well.
So as you go on trips you could tag places and things that you have seen through Instagram and give people a photographic reference of things they can do when they visit that area as well. So Instagram is not just for sharing and looking at pretty things, it's also an informational gathering tool as well. And that's really what I use it for and that's really what I think everyone should use it for as well, it's a great application for that. So once you have all of this information set up all you have to do then is click Share and clicking Share will then take it out, post it to the Web and everybody will be able to see not only the photo, but the caption and the location information that you've added via this screen.
