Well, we've got lots more to anchor, folks. That's why I've called this document Lots more to anchor.indd. It's a catch-up document that's found inside the 07 Object Styles folder. Could have called it something clever like Anchors away. Yes, you are thankful I didn't do that. You are welcome! So what should we be doing at this point? Well, we've got this W right here that actually goes with script typefaces and we've got this guy right there that actually goes with serif. Check it out, we don't have to have these even remotely in the right places if we take advantage of a simpler technique that I haven't shown you so far.
I am going to go ahead and press the W key, so that I can see all the guides and all the invisible characters and everything, and I am going to grab W, click on it that is, with the black arrow tool. I am going to press Ctrl+X or Command+X on the Mac. I am going to double-click in front of the S in script typesfaces, just make sure you have a blinking insertion marker in front of script, and then I'll press Ctrl+V or Command+V on the Mac. Now I am going to press the Enter key on the keypad or you could press the Escape key if you did not load Deke keys, and that switches me back to the black arrow tool.
I'll click on the T in order to select it, press Ctrl+X and then double-click in front of serif right there and press Ctrl+V in order to paste that guy. So you may say, "Hey Deke, it doesn't seem like we are getting very close to making any Anchored Objects here, we are just making a mess of everything". That's okay. I am going to go grab my black arrow tool and I am going to click on the W and I'll click on Margin Objects, bang! Look at that. That's all you've got to do. You don't even have to fit the frame to the contents this way. Isn't that easier? Then grab the T and go ahead and click on Margin Objects for it too.
It goes in and throws it out there, just exactly where it needs to be. It fits the frame and everything; you don't have to worry about that at all. Let's go over here and do the same thing for 11 PM. Go ahead and grab that guy, Ctrl+X it, double-click in front of small capitals, you probably know them as small-caps and then press Ctrl+V, Command+V on the Mac in order to Paste that text. Get your black arrow tool. Click on 11 PM, Margin Objects. Man oh man, is that easy? Is that easier or what? In the next and final exercise we'll take a look at something a little bit special going on with the S down here and the X up here.
We need to do a little switcheroo associated with those two guys. It's pretty amazing stuff. I think you want to be part of it, so definitely, stick with me.
