Learn how to create interactive publications for tablet devices using Adobe InDesign and the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. Introducing this emerging publishing platform, author James Lockman discusses the DPS workflow, comparing it with existing EPUB and print workflows, and highlights key layout and design considerations when designing for DPS. The course explains how to incorporate hyperlinks, slideshows, panoramas, audio and video, and pan and zoom capabilities as a means of adding value to a publication. Lastly, the course sheds light on compiling interactive folios and testing and publishing finished projects.
Hello. I'm James Lockman and welcome to Up and Running with the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite or DPS. Advertisers, publishers and corporations are all using this emerging publishing platform. This course requires an understanding of how to use InDesign. We'll see how to add movies and interactivity to InDesign documents and then publish them as tablet applications. I'll begin by comparing DPS to print and EPUB and we'll see how to set up a document for DPS. Then we'll see how to use the DPS tools to add interactivity to our InDesign projects.
Next, we'll see how to turn our InDesign documents into interactive folios that can be viewed on tablet devices. Lastly, I'll show you how to bundle that document with others to create an interactive experience through Adobe's Digital Publishing service. Now let's get up and running with the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.
