Using textures in Photoshop

- Textures can be used in Illustrator and InDesign, but in my opinion, the best creative environment to control and utilize textures in context of design or illustration will be in Photoshop. The beauty of Photoshop is that it's easy to adapt it to however you prefer to work, unlike the rigid methodologies of Illustrator. The same task can be handled 10 different ways by 10 different people in Photoshop, and yet all of them can produce similar results. I say this because, as you watch me utilize textures in Photoshop, you'll probably recognize other ways I could have done something. And that's okay and should be expected. Let me show you how I utilize textures in Photoshop to imbue my art with an authentic look and feel. Once again, we're back showcasing the scorpion illustration I created. What you see onscreen here is a exact representation of what I created in Illustrator. It's clean, simplified and flat vector graphics. This looks good, but it's going to look so, so much better…
