This course is a streamlined introduction to Adobe's popular vector drawing application. Expert Deke McClelland shows how to create professional-quality illustrations for print and electronic output, in the shortest time possible. The course covers the basics of setting up artboards, formatting type, drawing and combing path outlines, and applying dynamic effects.
With any luck you now have a solid sense for how to start using and move forward with Illustrator. Welcome to the club. By corny as it may sound your journey has just begun, this is a vast program. It's been around for more than 20 years so there's lots more to discover. If you are a member of the lynda.com online training library, I recommend two avenues for further exploration. The first is my own Illustrator One-on-One Fundamentals, in which I immerse you in the software so that you emerge with the sense of not just comfort but fluency.
After that, if you are interested in kicking your skills up a notch, tryout Mordy Golding's Illustrator Insider Training Rethinking the Essentials. It's an excellent way to see Illustrator in a whole new light. Wherever you go thanks for having been here. On behalf of lynda.com this is Deke McClelland and let me end by reminding you of something that you obviously already know, there's no better investment than the time you invest in yourself. Take care.
