- So now that we have our first instance on this stage of our symbol I think it's worth mentioning that the position of that element on the use tag is set to 10 by 10, but we also are getting the measurements of the original symbol itself as well, which is 20 by 20. So to illustrate this if I come in here and change the center x inside the symbol to 30 you'll see that the graphic will also move up here as well. So the instance is getting the original measurements plus the measurements set down here. So what I like to do inside of my symbols is set the size to the smallest value possible, that way I can use that particular measurement to position the rest of the instances. Now to demonstrate what that means we have here a center x and center y of 20 and a radius set of 10. Now what that means is the radius size is going to be 10 pixels to the right and left of the center y and the center x because again we're working with the center.
