Last time, we looked at how the dragon was created for this image done for Epson. What we're going to do this time is look at the flower. This flower right here. Real close on the arm here at this particular flower. And how that was created. Now, a little side note that everything in this, image, has to conform to Fibonacci's, formulas. If we, go in there, and, look at the number of scales the number of Fibonacci numbers, the number of pedals, everything have to relate to Fibonacci's formulas.

In fact, right here on her thumb is Fibonacci's formula, as a tattoo. So everything had to be created based on that. That was a little inside joke for the Epson people that we used to create all these tattoos. going to look at the flower right now. So, I have here the file of the flowers. There's two of them right there. You see that I have some paths turned on, because there's quite a few paths. There's quite a few paths to this flower. And when you look at the layers, there's quite a few layers. There's a composite layer on top, we'll turn that one off. Okay, and then we see that we have all the, the center, the first row, the second row, the third row, the bottom, and the small flower.

They're all in their own individual little folders here. And everything as you can see has been named to make it easy to find. So we'll going to do is going to take that bottom, going to turn that off, and we're going to recreate that bottom layer of petals down there. So, I'm go in and create a layer and create a layer right on top of this, one layer right there which is where we're going to put our little petals. So we're going to look at the paths, and there's these bottom paths right there. So I'm going to select those paths, and I'm going to select the ones that are the main stem.

Right there, which we see right there are these pieces, the longer pieces, as opposed to those smaller ones which are folding over. Now in some cases they overlap each other. So that's going to make a little bit of a difference, so we might have to handle some of those separately like this one here which is overlapping. And that one there which is overlapping. So we're going to go in here and start to fill those, and we're going to get a color. So I'm going to pick a nice kind of yellowish tone, pick this yellow tone right from the center of that petal right there.

And in that layer I'm going to go ahead and fill that path with those tones right there, and there you have it. They're filled up, right? Now because those other guys are slightly separate, I'm going to create another layer, behind this current layer. Now, the reason I created a new layer below, is because I was holding down my Cmd key, which will make the new layer below, as opposed to the normal, which is above. And then, I'm going to select those other two. This one and this one, which fall behind the other petals.

And in that new layer that I have there, I'm going to go ahead and fill that path with those tones. There they are. Now comes the little overlaps, so I'm going to select each one of those paths to make up that little overlap. Here it goes across, so let's pick that one and that one, and we'll pick a lighter tone. Picked this really light tone for the yellow. And in the layer on top of both of these, I will go ahead and fill the paths. There we go. And then this one here that overlaps right there, we're going to create a new layer on top of all of them right there and you should take the time to name these layers.

And right there I'm going to fill that last path with that color. Now all our little petals are in place. Now we have to go in there and give them a little bit of a tonality. Now we can give them a little stroke like they have here, but you know how to do that its just a layer style, real simple. But what I want to really emphasize is how I'm going to create the shading to make this thing look like they are in fact where they are. So I'm going to select the first one. This is where it's important to name them because you gotta know which one is which. Alright, so that's that layer right there.

And than this is the back most layer, which is those two right there. So I'm going to select that one first. I'm going to select those two. And I'm going to go in there, and take my Burn tool, my Burn tool, and I'm going to make the size a little bigger. And I'm going to go in there, and start to burn those tones, right in there, burn those so I expect to get that shadow. You see how it's gettin' kind of black. I'm going to go in there, and say, let's pick, the Highlights. See it gets even darker. Lets go into Shadows. Now you can see its going to be a little warmer when I start to use that effect.

So I go in there and its just to, to darken that bottom most little petal really dark so its way under there tucked under there. The next batch I am going to go in there and start to very lightly to give them a little tone. Lets go in there and set this to mid tones and in that second layer, I am going to start to go in there and start to darken those just a little under there, under here. And get these guys just that little darkness so, so that you can see that they are in fact underneath all the other things. And than that first one, gotta get' em right in there.

Let's get that little darkness going in there, right there. And then, right here, right in there, we need, I'm going to get my brush a little smaller, we need a little shading right under there, where it's folded over. We'll throw that in there. And the others look fine. So now, we got the little highlights on top, the little fold overs. That's this first batch, which is right there. So I'm going to grab those. And I'm going to darken those in certain spots. So this one, let's just say we make it a little darker right into that area there. Right there. And here we're going to deal with the highlights, because this is a much lighter, kind of a tone in there.

And we're going to grab this one down there and this one over here just to that little bottom part there. Just like that. And, maybe right in there, like that. Grab this one just a little bit in that area there. Alright, so now, and then that last one we'll just kind of darken that right under there like that, and then we can highlight through the Dodge tool which is go in there and kind of lighten that little part right there. Set this to Highlights in there and get a nice little bright highlight there and a little highlights along these little tips right in there. And there you can start to see how we're starting to get all our little tones that we want.

And we can soften this up a little bit. Make the brush a little bigger, and just get a little tone in there, and bring this down even more. Just so we get a little slight touch of a highlight going on into that area there. And then you can see where we've added all these little tones which make those petals look three dimensional. And the final figure that we would want, is a little stroke. So I could just grab one of these, and say, give it a stroke. Alright and there's a little stroke appears right there, and what we want to do is change the color to, say that brown right there.

Click OK. And the size should be a little bigger, so we'll just grab a nice larger size like that. Click OK. And when see what we like, we can duplicate that into the others like so, and they'll all have the same stroke. And that's how basically the petals were created. Once they were all done, everything was put in place, and there you can see the, the final petals that'll appear right on top. And that's how the flower was basically created. Individual paths that made up the individual petals and then they were each colorized so that you can get the sense of where highlights and shadows would be.
