Compressing vector images

Let's once again look at our donut image. It's an SVG file, which means it's made out of text. Here's how it looks if I open up the image in a text editor. While I love Illustrator for making SVGs easy to create, it's not that great at making rather small file sizes. So just like we need to optimize other image formats like PNG and JPEGs, to get them to lower file sizes, we need to do the same for SVGs. One way we can optimize an SVG is with an online optimizer, like the one here. We're going to upload our SVG, and let the online converter handle compressing the image. With the online converter, I select donut SVG and drag it onto the Choose File button. Next, I hit the Upload button. With the file uploaded, you're presented with a menu of options to choose from. I check off remove unnecessarily white space, and press Optimize File.
