Combining gradients with crosshatching
In this movie I'll assign gradients to all of the paths that represent hair and I'll also add in that crosshatch pattern that we created in the previous movie. I happen to be zoomed way in on my mustache, and the reason I'm so far zoomed in is the zoom ratio that I employed when modifying the pattern, carrys over when I exit the pattern edit mode. But that's just fine because I'm going to start things of in the beard down here at the goatee, so I'll go ahead and click on this path outline with the black arrow tool to select it. And notice over here in the swatches panel that we have this solid brown fill that may have been true, that may have been my true hair color once upon a time. But those days are long gone, now I have all sorts of gray going on here. So what I'm going to do is with the gradient panel open, as you can see down here, I'll go ahead and drag this dark brown fill to the beginning of the gradient like so and drop it into place. And now I have the ugliest gradient…
