Having once been the Product Manager for Illustrator over at Adobe and having used and taught Illustrator for over 20 years, I've learned that there are so many ways to use Adobe Illustrator. So, in this title, I'll focus on teaching you how to understand how Illustrator works and how it thinks, providing you with the knowledge that you'll need to get started creating artwork with Illustrator CS5.
I'll begin with basic concepts like creating and working with documents. Then I'll teach you how to draw and build shapes, covering things like use of color and special effects along the way. I'll show you how you can work with images alongside of your vector artwork and how you can apply useful distortion like blends and perspective. I'll also spend time sharing tips and tricks that the pros use, things like keyboard shortcuts and production secrets, so that you can increase your efficiency and become more comfortable with this powerful graphics application.
