He covers the application's key features in a new way, making it simple and easy to master Illustrator. Deke teaches viewers how to use the core drawing and shape tools, the transformation and reshaping features, text, and the Pen tool. He also explains how to export and print. Even if learning Illustrator has been a struggle in the past, this training can help make sense of it. Exercise files accompany the course.
Hi! I'm Deke McClelland. Hello and welcome to Illustrator CS4 One-on-One. My in-depth, master's level series on Adobe Illustrator. As the name One-on-One implies, I walk you through Illustrator as if I were teaching you in a classroom or corporate consulting environment. Except that instead of getting lost in a crowd of students, you receive my individualized attention. It's just you and me one-on-one. Illustrator is an enormous application, much deeper than most people imagine.
If you are new to the program, I don't want that to dissuade you. Deep is a good thing. Deep means capable, powerful, deep has you covered. In my experience even seasoned users have no idea just how much this program can do. Illustrator offers surprises at every turn, which is why I have broken Illustrator CS4 One-on-One into three parts. In part one, Fundamentals, I'll introduce you to the essential topics. The stuff that every one needs to know in the order you need to know it.
We'll start with making a document. Then we'll check out the Adobe Bridge, learn how to navigate in Illustrator, see how to draw line art, color your shapes, apply common transformations like scale and rotate, create and format text, use the Pen tool, and finally, print an illustration and save it for the web. In later parts, I'll lead you into the advanced topics, the ones that are most likely to expand your creative range in the shortest amount of time. By the end, you will have seen everything Illustrator has to offer. This is no tips & tricks course. I'm going to make sure you understand how Illustrator works and how you work with it.
One-on-One is your chance to go from novice to a depth expert, one straightforward movie at a time.
