Hi! I am James Williamson, Adobe Certified Instructor and lynda.com Senior Author. I want to welcome you to HTML5 First Look. In this course, we are going to explore HTML5, the exciting new emerging standard for developing web sites and applications. Along the way, we'll discuss the history of HTML, current levels of support for HTML5, and even delve into some of the associated technologies that when combined with HTML5 are having a dramatic impact on how web and mobile applications are being developed.
Keep in mind as you watch this title that HTML5 is still in development. We've created the First Look series to allow us to explore emerging technology as it matures. As such, this title will focus on both what you can accomplish right now with HTML5, as well as offering you a glimpse of what HTML5 will allow you to do in the future.
