Hi! I am Steve Heffernan and I am a web frontend developer, specializing in web and mobile video. Welcome to HTML5 Video and Audio in Depth. In this course I'll introduce you to using HTML5 video and audio on your own sites just like we are doing here. We'll start with a background on HTML5 video and where it's at today and we'll cover everything from using the new video and audio tags to creating the specific file formats that we'll need, creating the ones that you see below here. We'll even create our own custom controls using the JavaScript API.

HTML5 is an exciting step forward for web media. I am looking forward to tell you all about it. So let's get started.
