In this course, author Lorrie Thomas Ross teaches you how to use Google+ to effectively promote a business. Discover how to set up an account for a business or client, and add company information, post photos and video, create compelling copy to market products or services, and improve your reach with contacts. Find smart ways to leverage the power of Google+ circles, blogging, and video sharing to make a real and lasting connection with an audience. This course also shows you ways to improve market visibility and open an online dialogue about your business.
So now that we have the personal profile created, I wanted to review some graphics that we're going to need for the business page. Just like you need a personal profile picture, you're also going to need one for your business page. So this is the 250x250 personal profile picture. Start to think in advance about one for your business page that's also the same size. I have two different images. I have the No Obstacles Sport logo icon, and I also have one that has a picture of a natural athlete in the No Obstacles Sport clothing, and that's a profile picture that you'll need.
You're also going to need around five or so additional photos. Google calls these additional photos scrapbook photos, and so I have different pictures of the athletes wearing the product, and these are all pictures that I can add to the Google+ for business page when we do that together. So as you're starting to plan, plan to have your profile icons ready, some scrapbook photos ready, and what you'll also want to do is do we see here how it says Change cover photo on the personal page? When we do this for the No Obstacles Sport business page, we can also either have the photos rotating through that we looked out for the scrapbook photos, those are the ones here, or you can also create an alternative image that's 904x180 pixels, and we have one like this is more branded, just something for you to think about. And I'll show you examples and how the page looks one way or the other, but it is something to think about, and as far as images like this go you can have a graphic artist design them for you, you could resize photo files yourself.
There are courses here on lynda.com that teach this, or some of you may say, look, I need to do what I do best and hire others to do the rest, and you may have some artists help you create these. But now that we know some of the assets that you'll want to plan for, let's go ahead and move into creating our business account. Next step is to go to this area called Pages right here on the left side. And for some of you it may be housed under More just depends we all have a different look and feel. I'm going to go ahead and hit pages, and it looks like we have no pages, which is perfect.
So what we're going to do together is create a new page for Google+ for business in the next movie.
