There are going to be moments where you will want to change or update your profile. When we look at marketing, I like to use a three-step process that I call access, optimize, and new, and part of the process is always assessing your page, and that's everything from content to visuals to your About bio. Always take this step, and I encourage you to go ahead and view your profile as how it appears to the Public, and I have got there by just going View as > Public, And it takes me out of editing mode. and take a look at your graphics, do the graphics need updating. Do you like the content? Is your About section something that you're happy with? Let's say oh gosh! We're actually not hosting those Google+ hangouts every Wednesday anymore. Ooh! Let's go ahead and quickly edit that. You can go here, Stop viewing as public.
You are going to spend a lot of time updating and editing your profile in this blue tab. You can tell when you're in editing mode when this blue bar is at the top of your screen, and to edit, you just click, put your mouse over when you see it highlighted, and then click, and we can take out those weekly hangouts, ah phew! We don't want to make promises that we can't keep. Let's go ahead and clean that up, all right! It looks much better, fantastic. Let's say you add LinkedIn to your business puzzle, you can go ahead and add a link here, I am going to go ahead and click out of that, and hit Done editing.
Any edits you want to make, click around, add videos, update your photos, and you'll also spend time in the Get Started tab. I like the Get Started tab because it's really clean, and it's something that Google has spent time to give Google+ Business page managers some options. So, go ahead and spend some time updating things here if that's applicable. In addition to going to Get Started tab, you can also go to Settings. I'm going to click that. I'm also going to go ahead and back out of that to show you another way to get there, and that's going up here to your business name, clicking it, and going to Page settings.
Under your Page settings, you can do everything from managing your posts, your Notification delivery, and as you're updating your profile and making optimizations, you may choose at one point to change some of your notifications. Here is an example. I'm logged in to Jaryl Leonard's Gmail account, and anytime someone adds her back or managers are updated, an email goes into her Inbox, and that's because all of these email notifications are checked. Because Jaryl is a new manager for Google+ and she's just getting started, she is choosing to get all of these notifications so she can go through and read everything and make sure that everything is happening to her liking, but she may had a point where she's got hundreds and hundreds of followers and she just can't handle the overwhelm in her email inbox.
So just know that you can make edits to your profile by changing things here. It's very similar to the privacy settings in Facebook, it will look familiar to you, for those of you who have some experience using Facebook for your business. So I am going to go ahead and click out of that and go to the Managers tab, and this is also something that you can do as you're optimizing and editing your profile. You may have several managers, people may leave your company, or people may get assigned to new projects. Let's say Mark LaCie all of a sudden is inundated with managing financials and can't actually comment on posts, so really can't help out like he used to.
He can be removed as a manager anytime by clicking the little X box, and you can always add new managers by emails. So I am going to go ahead and add one. So you can always invite new people. I'm going to go ahead and invite him, and I am going to go ahead and take Mark off of the management list, and it's that simple, and you can also transfer ownership. So at some point Jaryl, the CEO of No Obstacles Sport, may say, "You know, I think it's time to hand the reins over to Akee," and she can go ahead and do that.
I encourage you to continue posting and spend time under your profile, always make sure that it represents your brand and your business the way that you want it to.
