Exploring the finished font
The first step in creating an icon font from scratch is to draw the individual icons. So in this chapter, we're going to focus on the process of drawing icons for icon fonts. Of course, you can't just get in and start drawing. You need to have some type of direction and planning involved in how you want to create your font. So before we get into the individual drawing exercises themselves, I want to take a moment to talk about the organization, and a planning aspect of the font that we're going to be working on. So what we are looking at right now is the finished version of my icon font, Chunky Mobile, that I developed specifically for this course. And when I started to think about what type of an icon font I wanted to create, I really started to thing about a lot of the projects that I've been working on lately and where, you know, a lot of the direction of web design in general is going.
