Venture into an entire world of captivating imagery and learn how to organize and share your best shots with others online. In this course, professional photographer Derrick Story guides you through the popular photo-sharing site Flickr, first introducing the Flickr mobile app, then demonstrating how to set up an account and upload images from your phone or common image editing applications such as iPhoto and Lightroom. Next, find out how to touch up and enhance your photos with the online editor, and make photos searchable with sets and collections and by assigning photos to maps. The course also helps you navigate the Flickr privacy settings and shows how to participate in the Flickr community through comments, contacts, groups, and more.
The Slideshow function built into Flickr can be used a couple of different ways. When you're here in your Photostream, you can just go over here to the Slideshow button, click on it, and it'll just start a slideshow from the beginning of your Photostream or I should say from the top of your Photostream. So the most current photos. You notice that they add a Ken Burns effect for you. And you just motor through your Photostream via Slideshow. I'll go ahead and pause that, go up to the x to exit out of the slideshow. Now, if you want you to start the slideshow from a specific point, let's say that we do a slideshow of these different poses by Victoria. I'm going to go ahead and click on Victoria just like this here. I'm going to click again to go into lightbox mode. Now, once I'm in lightbox mode, you'll see that the slideshow play button appears, so I can click on that and the slideshow begins.
When I'm done watching the slideshow, I can pause, go back to the x button to get out of this mode. I'm going to hit the l key to exit lightbox mode, and then I'll go back to my Photostream. Now, you can also do slide show in sets. So I'm looking inside a set right now, I clicked the slideshow button. Then the images are shown.
So, you can use sets, if you want, to create a storyboard. If you want to have more control over how your slideshow looks and I'll just go back to our Photostream. So, slideshow. You can watch the whole thing. You can start from any point in your Photostream, or if you want more control, if you want to storyboard it a bit, create a set, and then play the slideshow from within the set.
