Venture into an entire world of captivating imagery and learn how to organize and share your best shots with others online. In this course, professional photographer Derrick Story guides you through the popular photo-sharing site Flickr, first introducing the Flickr mobile app, then demonstrating how to set up an account and upload images from your phone or common image editing applications such as iPhoto and Lightroom. Next, find out how to touch up and enhance your photos with the online editor, and make photos searchable with sets and collections and by assigning photos to maps. The course also helps you navigate the Flickr privacy settings and shows how to participate in the Flickr community through comments, contacts, groups, and more.
If you use other social networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook. You can connect them to your Flickr account here in the Sharing and Extending tab under Your account. Essentially the way that you do it is, for instance, Facebook. You would come here, you would click on the Connect button. You would be asked to Log In and you give permissions for those two accounts to talk to one another. Let me show you how that looks once its set up. We have that setup here in our Training account.
Here we go. So we've already set up those connections with both Facebook and Twitter, and even after you do that, you can go through and you can edit. So for instance, you have this option here, Automatically share your public Flickr uploads anywhere your Facebook updates are shown. You can turn that Off or On there and then also, you can remove the connection. Here between Facebook and Yahoo, between Facebook and Flickr, those can be changed. And if you need more information all you have to do is click on the See Details and you'll get just a bit more about that.
Go ahead and close that, same thing. We have Twitter set up, and once its set up then you can make changes. You can remove that connection right here under this tab and if you have a Tumblr account you can also do that here. So that's very handy and its a nice place especially if you're home for photos end up being Flickr. And then you decide which ones you want to share on the other sites you can control all of that here. One other thing that I want to show you under this tab, is that we have other account links setup already. We've made connections to Flickr Uploadr which is a standalone app, to iPhoto, to Aperture.
We're going to be talking about those in upcoming movies, but those are controlled here, they show up here. And if you click on the edit button, then you can also remove those permissions here. That all happens under this particular tab, and that is the sharing and extending tab under your account in Flickr.
