Venture into an entire world of captivating imagery and learn how to organize and share your best shots with others online. In this course, professional photographer Derrick Story guides you through the popular photo-sharing site Flickr, first introducing the Flickr mobile app, then demonstrating how to set up an account and upload images from your phone or common image editing applications such as iPhoto and Lightroom. Next, find out how to touch up and enhance your photos with the online editor, and make photos searchable with sets and collections and by assigning photos to maps. The course also helps you navigate the Flickr privacy settings and shows how to participate in the Flickr community through comments, contacts, groups, and more.
When Flickr updated its web app, it also updated the Android version of the app and, you know, it's really nice. I really like the way this looks. I want to give you just a quick overview here, so you can find your way around if you're using the Android phone or mobile device. So, up at the top there, where the lynda training icon is, there's a little down arrow, and I'm going to tap on that right now. And, there you'll see the different areas that we're used to on flicker.
You'll see sets, groups, favorites, photos of, and contacts. I'm going to tap on sets right now. And, here we have our different sets and we can motor through them. For instance, on the top set there, I'm going to swipe my finger from right to left. And we can see the different photos in the set. And then I'll swipe back from left to right to go to the beginning.
And then we have the other sets below it. If you've looked at other movies in the training, you may recognize some of these pictures. I'm going to swipe from the bottom upward. See our flowers, our equipment, our hiking, all that good stuff is right here. Now I'm going to tap on the camera icon, and that's in the upper right hand corner there, and here I can take a new photo or choose from the gallery either way. Tap on that icon again to close that.
And now I'm going to tap on the hard return button, at the bottom of the phone. And now we're in the menu area, so I'll swipe upward so we can see some of the other options that we have here. I'll tap on settings, here we have our notifications. We can determine our upload signs. We can enable or disable location services, and we can even sign out. I'm going to tap on the soft menu button in the upper left corner there, swipe downward to bring us back up to the top.
And I'll tap on the Lynda training icon to bring us back to our pictures. So there's an overview. I think they've done a nice job, it's very attractive. I think the images look great on the phone. And I'll talk in more detail about some of the other features in upcoming movies.
