One of the things that I enjoy about the Flickr mobile app is following my Contacts. And it's really great, cause I have the iPhone in my pocket, I've got a few spare minutes, I can see what my photographer friends are up to. So let's take a look at how that works. Now, the Contacts area is right here, where you have the little people. But before we explore that, I just want to review on one of the ways that you can add to this area. So we're going to go back to the two dots for a second, we're going to go to the More menu, and I'm going to go up here to Search.
And we're going to search for people, and I'm just going to search for, so one that I really like, oh, look at this. Jim's a terrific photographer, and he works here at lynda.com. But I even knew him before then, so I like his photography a lot, so I'm going to go ahead and tap on the Add button, and now he's a contact. Great, Okay. So that's an easy way to add someone that you know already to your contacts.
So, now I'm going to go ahead and hit the Back arrow, let's go to the Contacts area, which is right down here, just tap on that. And we have the digital story, we have Samara, but we don't have Jim here. Well, the way that you refresh is that you just pull down like this and that will refresh the screen, so let's do that. We'll just pull down and look at that. It reloads, and now Jim has been added to our (LAUGH) party. Oh, see now when you photograph animals, you're suppose to get down low for great shots.
This is a perfect example of that good technique, and this is why I like Jim as a photographer. And here's Samara, my friends like dogs, (INAUDIBLE) knows that. So if you want to see what your contacts are up to you go to this area right there and again we tapped on this right here. And then you can just see the latest shots they have been doing. Derek has been on kind of an outdoor geek thing lately, and Jim has been up to a little bit of everything, he's very eclectic.
Samara, she loves her doggies and nature. And then we go down one more, and oh, wait, I don't know this person. Well, this is what Flickr will do. If you don't have a lot of contacts in the beginning, they'll suggest people. So, that way you can have a full party, right? You don't have a party with just one person. I'm curious about the shot, so I can just tap on this photo right here. And that will take me to his photo page, and if I decide, wow, this is pretty good photography, or I'm interested. Then I can just tap right up here, on his name.
We'll see his photostream, you've got some great stuff. And if I want to add him as a contact I will just tap on the Add button right there. So it's really that easy, I'm going to go back to Contacts, tap right there. Now there's one other place I want to show you where contacts show up, and we're actually going to be talking about our photostream in a bit. So I'm going to go right over here, tap on this, go to photostream, and you notice that we have contacts up here. Let's see if I can refresh that, just going to pull that down. So we refresh, and look, our new contacts are right here. So I can tap on this and we get a list of our contacts and so then I can just tap on that person if I want to go directly to their photostream. So that's a nice look at contacts and how you can keep in touch with your friends. Very easy with a mobile app, I love it.
Just remember that the main area is right down here and that you can also see them in your Photostream.
