Since you first started creating animations in Flash, you have probably wondered how to stop the Timeline from looping. To do that, you can use ActionScript code. In this movie, we will look at how to apply that ActionScript using code snippets. So let's take a look at my animation here. So I have a banner ad, the girl riding in on the bike, and then everything zooming out. Once the animation is done, it loops over from the beginning. So let's make this animation stop at end.
So I will close the preview window and go to the last frame with the animation. Now let's open the Code Snippets panel. I will go to Window > Code Snippets. In the Code Snippets panel, I will expand the Timeline Navigation area and then just double click Stop at this Frame. The Actions panel then opens and you will see the comment that explains how the code works, and then the code itself, which is stop, some parenthesis, and a semicolon. That's it. So Flash puts that code on that frame, which is the last frame, and the animation will stop once the playhead gets to that point.
So let's test this movie again in the Flash Player and see how it works. So the animation plays from the beginning and then once the animation reaches the end, everything stops. So to recap, you can stop the Timeline by moving the playhead where you want the Timeline to stop, opening the Code Snippets panel, and double clicking Stop at this Frame.
