In this movie, we'll take a look at using the PolyStar tool. PolyStar tool is also in the fly out menu with the Rectangle and Oval Primitive tools. So I'll select the PolyStar tool. Note that you can choose and merge drawing in the toolbar. Then you can choose fill and stroke settings in the Properties panel. For the tool Settings area, you'll see a button that says Options. So if you click that button, you can choose to toggle between a polygon or a star. You can control the Number of Sides as well as the Star point size. So I click and drag to draw a star on Stage.
Note that if you hold the Shift key, the star's angle is constrained to 45 degrees. So if you wanted to be straight up, you can hold the Shift key to do that. So there is a star on Stage. I'll undo that change. I'll click the Options button again to go to a polygon. So if I want to draw an octagon, I can change the Number of Sides to 8, and then click OK. I can click and drag to draw an octagon on the Stage. By changing the Star point size, you can change the width of the points of a star.
So I'll change the Star point size to 0.1 and click and drag, you can see that the Star points are very narrow. So to use the PolyStar tool, select the tool from the toolbar, and adjust your settings through the Properties panel in the tool Settings area with the Options button.
