In Flash Professional CS5 Essential Training, author Todd Perkins explains the fundamentals of Flash Professional CS5, the industry standard for creating animations and interactive applications for the web, desktop, and mobile devices. In this chapter we are going to add bone structures to create IK animations. IK stands for inverse kinematics. To understand the inverse kinematics, the best thing to do is just show you this animation. So I am going to test the movie in the Flash Player and you can take a look at the animation. So each one of these arms in this machine is an individual bone system. You notice that the part of the arm attached to the machine doesn't move very much, but as the parts of the arms that are smashing the olives move, the other arms move as well.
So we are going to look at how to set up these bone systems to create these types of animations. So using inverse kinematics you can create animations like these armatures here. In this chapter you learned the ins and outs of creating IK animations in Flash.
