Flash CS4 allow you to stretch the time of an animation. If you are following along you can open up Stretching_Frame. fla from the Chapter_01 folder or you can create an animation on the Stage. So here I have an 18 frame animation of a monster jumping up and down. I'll test the movie to preview it in the Flash Player and now I'll close the Preview window. Let's say this animation looks great but it's just a little bit too fast and I want to slow it down a little bit. So let's say I want to play the animation over 24 frames instead of 18 frames. All you have to do is hover your cursor over the frames that you want to extend so I am over the very end of the animation frames. Notice my cursor updates to show arrows that face the left and right. So if I click and drag there, I am going to extend the animations to 24 frames or however many frames I want, I'll do the same thing for the shadow layer.
Now if I test the movie the animation is exactly the same but its 24 frames long instead of 18. And this also works in the other way. Let's say the animations before was a little bit too slow and I wanted to make it in 12 frames instead of 18 frames, so I am going to click and drag to make the animation 12 frames long in both layers, I'll test the movie and there it is. So by simply clicking and dragging at the last frames in the motion tween you can stretch the length of the animations to as many or as few frames as you would like.
