Let's say you created a motion tween that you wanted to nest inside of a graphic symbol. In order to do that, you will need to know how to select and move and copy a motion tween. Fortunately, selecting and moving or copying motion tweens is actually pretty easy. You can select a motion tween by simply clicking on it in the timeline. Once you click on it, you select the whole motion tween span. You can then click and drag to move it around. This is pretty intuitive for working with a motion tween. Of course if you wanted to copy the motion tween, you could hold the Alt or Option key as you drag it and you can copy that tween say to another layer.
I am actually going to delete those last keyframes by selecting them and pressing Shift+F5 on the keyboard. Let's take this motion tween of the sun and put it inside of its own graphic symbol. So what I am going to do is select the span of frames by single clicking it. I am going to right click. I am going to choose Cut Frames. You will then see a blank keyframe on the sun layer. I will go to Insert > New Symbol, call this SunAnimation. Then I will paste the frames by right- clicking the first frame of layer 1 and choosing Paste Frames, and there's the Sun animation.
I will return to Scene 1, select the sun layer, and on the sun layer I will go to the library and click and drag the SunAnimation onto that layer. I can then move it wherever I like, easily place that animation wherever I want, with the rest of the artwork on the Stage. So now I have that animation nested inside of the graphic symbol. And remember, when you place an animation inside of a graphic symbol, you are going to need to place enough frames on the Timeline to accommodate that animation.
So I had the same amount of frames as I had before on the main Timeline, so they are enough to accommodate that animation. But if I had less frames on the main Timeline, then the animation would be cut short.
