Now we'll look at how to import a video file into Flash. To do that, all you have to do is go to File > Import. Then you can choose Import Video. You can also choose Import to Stage. I'll choose Import Video. Then that will open the Import Video dialog box. From here, the first step is to find where the video file is. My file is actually on my computer, not on a web server. But if my video were on a web server I can choose Already deployed to a web server and put the URL there.
So I'll click Browse to find my file, which is going to be Clip14-tahoe.f4v. So I'll double-click that file, and then Flash will input it in right there. So I'll go to Continue. Go to the next step. From here, I choose the skin for my video. I can click the dropdown menu to pick any skin I want. Notice the names describe what is inside of the skin. So you'll see PlayBackSeekCounterVolumeMute.
You'll see Minimal at the beginning. Then MinimalUnder, MinimalSilver. So you can go through these different settings and you can choose which one is your favorite, or which one is appropriate for the situation. I'm going to choose MinimalSilverPlayBackSeekCounterVolMute. So I'll choose that. Then if I want to, I can choose the color. I'm not going to do that right now. So I'll click Continue. Then finally Flash lets me know what's going to happen. So it says the video you're using is located at this location.
The video will be located at this location. Then you see the relative path to the file, which in this case is just the file name, because it's in the same directory as my FLA. Then some more information about the Flash Video component, and then I'll click Finish to import the video. So now the video is on the Stage. I'll select the video and move it up with my keyboard toward the top of the Stage. So all you have to do to import video into Flash is go to File > Import > Import Video, and follow the messages in the dialog box.
