In Flash Professional CS5: Character Animation, Dermot O' Connor explains the process of character animation in Flash, using nested symbols and motion and shape tweening to create believable characters. The course covers the process from start to finish, from rigging a character to creating a walk cycle animation. Along the way, Dermot demonstrates techniques such as animating eye blinks, head turns, and mouth movements during dialogue. Exercise files accompany the course.
So that's the end of the course. By now, you should have a pretty good idea of the possibilities of Flash animation. Now, you're not limited to the zippy, simplistic, flashy style of movement of just a simple flat square flying across the screen. This program is quite capable of creating fine, subtle animation as well as broad. By combining a nested symbol with shape tweening inside another symbol that does motion tweening, you can create a wide variety of animation styles and you can do all this without the steep learning curve that you'd have to endure with a 3-D package.
So, I hope you found this course useful.
