Compressing audio with the library

Once you've imported a sound file into your application, you can edit the compression of the sound file through the Library. Remember, controlling the compression of an audio file is just like controlling the compression of an image. You can reduce the file size without ever affecting the original file, and any changes that I make in Flash are not going to permanently damage the imported file in Flash, so I can always go back to the original. So just keep that in mind that you're not going to make any permanent changes to the sound by messing with the compression settings through the Library. To open up the Compression Settings window, double-click the sound's icon in the Library. Remember don't double-click the name. That's going to open up the name changing mode. Double-click the sound's icon and Flash will open up the Sound Properties window. Here you'll see that Compression is set to Default.
