Hi! I am Todd Perkins. Welcome to Flash Professional CS5: Creating a Simple Game for iOS Devices. If you're familiar with Flash and ActionScript and watched develop iOS games using what you already know, this course is right for you. We will start by looking at the finished version of the game, which you can download from the App Store. You will see how the game's source files are organized and get a top-level view of developing iOS games using Flash. From there, we will begin creating the game. We will animate the skateboarder and add support to control him using the device's accelerometer.
After that we'll look at how to detect swipe gestures and add sound effects. We will finish the game by adding parallax scrolling to the background, collision detection, and scoring. We will even look at how to save high scores to the device. By the time we are finished with this course you will have seen just about everything Flash has to help you create iOS applications and will have built a real world game as well.
