Hi! I am James Talbot, and I would like you to welcome you to Building Android and iOS Applications with Flex. In this course, we will build a mobile application for two modern smartphone platforms. We will start by looking at how to use the Flex classes designed specifically for mobile development. We will explore how to connect the data sources, how to optimize performance, and how to test applications both in Flash Builder and on the devices themselves. We will see how to access controls and APIs specific to mobile devices, such as multi-touch, accelerometer control, and camera access.
Finally, we will cover how to submit a finished application to the Android marketplace, the Apple App Store, and the Amazon App Store. Now before starting this course, you should have some knowledge of mobile terminology. You should also be familiar with ActionScript and the Flex development environment in Flash Builder.
