If you've purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5, you'll also have access to Adobe Bridge. Let's take a look at how to access Bridge, and talk a little bit about its features. I'm going to go my File menu and choose Browse in Bridge. In Bridge, you can sort, organize and preview your files, as well as call in certain actions from Fireworks. So we take a look here. We're in our Chapter_11 folder. I can click on individual files here. I can get a look at them onscreen. I can even change the view, so I can see a much larger version of that file. So it's very easy for me to figure out exactly what files I want to open.
So I'm getting a nice quality sized Preview here. Once I found a file that I want to work with, I just simply double-click on the icon, and it'll open up directly inside of Fireworks. That's pretty handy. I'm just going to hop back over to Bridge again, and we'll take a look at one more feature here. As well as being able to preview your files, you can also rename files by clicking, and then clicking one more time on the file name. You can also access some common actions withinside of Fireworks. If I go up to the Tools menu, for example, you'll see an option here for Fireworks.
I can call in several different pre- built commands that are inside of Fireworks: Convert to Grayscale, Convert to Sepia, Invert Selection Color, Batch Processing and also Export To FXG. So all these actions are available right withinside the Bridge menu. When I'm done with Bridge, all I need to do is go back to the File menu and choose Return to Adobe Fireworks. So Bridge can help you in a couple of different ways. It gives you a chance to Preview your images before you open them up. It also gives you the opportunity to run several different commands from Bridge right into Fireworks.
