Hi, my name is Justin Seeley. And I'm a staff author here at lynda.com. I'd like to welcome you to Up and Running with Facebook. This course is meant to give you the basic tools that you need to get started using Facebook as quickly and as efficiently as possible. We'll begin by walking you through the steps of creating a new Facebook account, including adding a profile picture and setting up your Facebook timeline. From there, I'll break down some basic terminology that will help you understand the ins and out of Facebook as we continue throughout the course.
We're also going to cover things like building your friends' list. Sending and receiving personal message. Working with Facebook Newsfeeds. And also, how to share things, like photos and videos, as well. Finally, I'll wrap things up by showing you how you can access Facebook from anywhere, by using your mobile or tablet device. By the end of this course, I hope that you'll have a better understanding of what Facebook is all about. And how you can use it to enhance your online social life. I'm really excited to start showing you all of this stuff. So if you're ready, let's get you up and running with Facebook.
