Like the other applications in Microsoft Office 2007, Excel 2007 boasts upgraded features and a brand-new look. In Excel 2007 Essential Training , instructor Lorna A. Daly introduces the new version in detail. The training begins with the essentials of using the program, including how and why to use a spreadsheet, how to set up and modify worksheets, and how to import and export data. Lorna then moves on to teach more advanced features, such as working with functions and macros. Exercise files accompany the tutorials.
Now that you've gathered and analyzed your data, you're ready to print it off. I've opened up the EatCake Inventory aid list worksheet to work with, and I'm ready to print off the information that's included in here. If you'd like to follow along, this particular worksheet is included in your exercise files. The main thing to remember when you're working with printing, is that you are going to print off exactly what you see on the screen. So the information in column B is going to be cut off. I'm not going to see the last characters and some of my item types.
As well, the information in column F is going to come up with number signs, rather than the values that are hidden beneath. Let's take a look at how it would look if I wanted to print it off, just like this. I can use this Print Preview option, which I see up here in my Quick Access toolbar. By clicking once, I'm brought into my Print Preview area, and you'll see that the information is going to be printed exactly the way that you see in this screen.
If you don't have that Print Preview icon on your Quick Access toolbar-- Before I'm ready to print this off, I'd like to clean up the data. So let's close the Print Preview button and go back to the worksheet. It's going be very easy for me to clean up and format the information that's in his worksheet. I'll show you a quick trick. If you take your mouse, and go over to the far left-hand corner and grab the cell that's right at the very top of the grid, You'd be grabbing the select all cell.
If you double-click on this, you're going to be selecting the whole worksheet. Notice how it's all gone shadowed. You can take your mouse and you scroll it over, and select a line between two of the columns, in this case I'm selecting C and D, and double-click. It will automatically format all of the information in the worksheet so that it presents it in it's entirety. Now if we go up to the Print Preview button.
We can see that the information is all nicely displayed and ready to be printed. I'm anxious to see what else I can do in the print preview, so let's close out the print preview option, and come into our next movie where we learn about the print preview itself.
